We’d like to introduce you to AGT’s shiny new intern, Lauren! Here’s 5 minutes of questions with her so you can get to know her a little better.
What’s your name and what’s your role?
Lauren — Marketing and Administration Intern
Give us a 30 second back story?
Born and raised in Gloucestershire, I’m a real country girl at heart. I loved growing up surrounded by greenery, wildlife, (mud…) and water — my garden backs onto the River Avon! I spent most of my early years horseriding, taking photos of the wildlife in my garden and annoying my older brother.
At school, granted I was a bit of a geek. I enjoyed learning new things and had so much fun doing experiments in science. I decided to study Biology at university because I wanted to learn more about evolution and the ways in which we can use science to understand and tackle some of the biggest issues we face, such as climate change and food security. I knew that Bristol would be a great place for me to study because the university is known for its leading research and the city is a cultural hub and home to the epicentre of Natural History TV.
In my spare time, I love listening to music, going to the pub & gigs (my favourite venue in Bristol is The Louisiana), watching indie films (shoutout to The Watershed), playing tennis & walking my two wonderful doggos!
How did you get involved at AGT?
A Graduate Scheme through Bristol University. I was drawn to Annabel Giraud-Telme because I wanted to learn more about entrepreneurship and marketing. I also loved Annabel’s incorporation of 3D-printing and innovative materials into her designs.
What do you like most about your job?
Having a good excuse to surf Instagram and blogs for hours. Jokes aside, I am learning so much every day — Annabel is a fountain of knowledge and always happy to answer my questions and lend me books!
What are your likes and dislikes?
I love discovering new music and I dislike inequality.
